There is no single evidence-backed best pet for every Ride A Pet task. Use reported speed to compare travel potential, reported jump to compare vertical movement, and current progression requirements to decide what to keep. This guide groups practical roles instead of inventing an S-to-F ranking for every pet.

Pet roles at a glance

Travel

Phoenix

Compare reported speed on familiar routes.

Climbing

Kangaroo

Compare jump and control on vertical routes.

Progression

Fox

Check the reported second-rebirth requirement.

Movement: compare the route, not just the number

The catalogue reports Fox at 19,500 speed, Unicorn at 137,000 and Phoenix at 1,000,000. These support a base-stat comparison within the same reference set. They do not measure route completion time, acceleration or how easy each mount is to control. Try turns and narrow landings before using a new mount on a timed return.

Vertical routes: jump matters too

Kangaroo is reported at 125 jump, Fox at 105 and Unicorn at 135. This makes Kangaroo worth comparing for early vertical routes even when a different pet has higher speed. A reported jump value is not a promise that every ledge is reachable; terrain, positioning and the current game still matter.

Progression: keep the required pet

Fox has a specific reported role in the second rebirth. Check the live requirement and keep the needed pet until you know how the progression step handles it. A pure speed ranking would miss this use case. Read the Fox acquisition guide before assuming that “Fox Egg” is a separate item.

Earnings: use your current card

We are not ranking income across pets because consulted sources use inconsistent units and do not establish comparable conditions. Compare the cash generation shown in your current game for pets in the same progression state. Keep mutation cash effects separate from speed.

A simple decision checklist

  • Exploring new terrain: prioritize predictable control and enough jump for the route.
  • Repeating a known ground route: compare displayed speed, then check whether turns cost you time.
  • Completing rebirth requirements: retain the specifically required pet.
  • Improving income: compare live cash values under the same conditions.

How these recommendations are maintained

The shared pet catalogue supplies the reference values. Conflicting or missing fields are excluded from numerical comparisons. This is a sourced decision guide, not a claim of a hands-on competitive benchmark or a complete current meta ranking.
